Marketings Seen Down in Feb. 1 Cattle on Feed Report

The biggest outlier in this month's USDA Cattle on Feed report will be the marketing data, which doesn't have a large effect on the market. Overall, the report could be received as bullish if pre-report estimates hold true.

OMAHA (DTN) — Friday’s Feb. 1 USDA Cattle on Feed report shouldn’t ruffle any feathers in the market. If anything, it could be received as bullish if the pre-report estimates hold true.

The biggest outlier in this month’s report will be the marketing data, which doesn’t have a colossal effect on the market. It will likely show a double-digit decrease in the number of cattle marketed, as packers haven’t been as aggressive in the cash market, as prices are at all-time highs.
