Live cattle: Last week ended up being another lackluster week for the live cattle complex, as the futures complex tumbled lower late in the week. Southern live cattle traded $3 lower last week, and Northern dressed cattle traded $6 lower.

Feeder cattle: Last week was a mixed week for the feeder cattle complex, as the futures complex essentially traded mixed. However, demand in the countryside perked back up, as buyers continue to acknowledge the fact that supplies are going to remain thin well through 2025.

Lean hogs: It was a tremendous week for the lean hog complex, as the market was thrilled to see a supportive quarterly USDA Hogs and Pigs report, which helped the futures market break higher on Friday and close at a new contract high in the spot December contract.

Corn: December corn finished down another 2 cents to close at $4.22, as harvest is expected to move quickly with a clear pattern over the next few weeks.

Soybean Meal: December meal futures fell $9.40 for the week to settle at $274.60, pressured again by the weak soybean market, rumors that China is buying more Brazil and no China trade deal done yet.
