Scattered Shower & Storm Activity Persists

A cold front will continue to bring scattered shower and storm activity to portions of the region today.

Today’s Weather Highlights:

– Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible across eastern portions of the region and the Gulf Coast as the cold front stalls out.

– Isolated showers and storms possible across Florida.

– Temperatures: 4-8 degrees above normal for most. Near normal in Florida.

Forecast Confidence: High

Temperatures are expected to verify well for most areas, with any areas that see extended precipitation trending cooler.

Tomorrow’s Weather Highlights:

– High pressure clears out northern portions of the region.

– Scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible across the Deep South and Florida.

– Temperatures: 3-6 degrees above normal in the Deep South. 2-6 degrees below normal in the Carolinas and Tennessee Valley.

Forecast Confidence: High

Temperatures are expected to verify well for most areas, with any areas that see extended precipitation trending cooler.

3-5 DAY EXTENDED OUTLOOK:

Friday:

– High pressure keeps most of the region dry.

– Scattered showers and storms remain possible across Florida. 

– Additionally, a developing coastal low could bring scattered shower and storm activity to the eastern Carolinas and eastern Georgia.

– Temperatures: 2-6 degrees below normal for most, coolest in the Carolinas and closest to normal in the Lower Mississippi River Valley. 

Saturday:

– High pressure continues to influence the region keeping most areas dry.

– A coastal low may continue to bring scattered shower/storm activity across the Carolinas. 

– Florida may see a few afternoon showers and storms.

– Temperatures: Near normal for most, trending maybe a few degrees above normal near the Mississippi River Valley.

Sunday:

– High pressure keeps most of the region dry.

– Some lingering shower/storm activity could be seen across the Carolinas.

– Temperatures: Remaining near normal for most, continuing to trend slightly above normal near the Mississippi Valley.
