Today’s Weather Highlights:

– Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Mississippi Valley and Florida.

– Drier conditions are expected elsewhere.

– Temperatures: 2-6 degrees below normal for most and near seasonal in southern Florida.

Temperatures should verify well for most, though areas that see showers and storms may trend slightly cooler due to cloud cover.

Tomorrow’s Weather Highlights:

– Scattered to numerous thunderstorms continue across portions of the Deep South and in Florida.

– Drier weather continues in the Carolinas.

– Temperatures: Up to 4 degrees below normal for most areas and near seasonal across southern Florida.

Forecast Confidence: Medium-High.

3-5 DAY EXTENDED OUTLOOK:

Thursday:

– A cold front moving into the region will cause the best chances for showers and storms to shift to eastern portions of the region, mainly GA, FL, and the Carolinas.

– Drier weather will prevail in the Mississippi Valley.

– Temperatures: Near to a couple of degrees below normal for most areas, and near seasonal across Florida.

Friday: 

– Scattered thunderstorms may continue across Florida, especially the southern portion of the state.

– Elsewhere, mainly dry weather is forecast outside of a few stray showers along coastal regions.

– Temperatures: Near to a couple of degrees below normal for most areas, and near seasonal across Florida.

Saturday:

– Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms expected over the Florida Peninsula as well as the southern Appalachians where a cold front will evolve.

– Drier weather continues in the Carolinas and much of the Gulf Coast.

– Temperatures: Near seasonal along the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts, but falling to 4-8 degrees below normal inland.
