Tropical Impacts Expected
A tropical system is likely to pass close to the Atlantic Coast, with the Carolinas expected to see the biggest impacts.
Today’s Weather Highlights:
– More lingering activity once again possible across the Carolinas and the immediate Atlantic Coast states.
– Shower and storm activity may increase later in the day across Florida as Tropical Depression Nine begins to lift into the Bahamas.
– Most other areas are likely to be dry.
– Temperatures: 2-6 degrees above normal for most, 2-5 degrees below normal across the Atlantic coast.
Forecast Confidence: High
Temperatures are expected to verify for most areas, outside of any areas affected directly by precipitation.
Tomorrow’s Weather Highlights:
– Tropical Depression Nine will approach the Carolina coast. While landfall is not out of the question, the current expectation is for the storm to remain just offshore. Any landfall would likely occur early Tuesday, though the outer bands reach the area early Monday.
– Heavy precipitation, multiple rounds of thunderstorms, and strong breezes will be likely across much of the Carolinas and Georgia.
– Mostly dry elsewhere aside from a few stray showers and weak thunderstorms.
– Temperatures: 3-5 degrees above normal for most, 3-7 degrees below normal across eastern Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
Forecast Confidence: Medium-High
Temperatures are expected to verify for most areas, outside of any areas affected directly by precipitation.
3-5 DAY EXTENDED OUTLOOK:

– Scattered rain/storms likely for the Carolinas and Georgia as the remnants of Tropical Depression Nine stall offshore.

Wednesday:
– Scattered rain/storms remain possible across Georgia and the Carolinas from tropical low remnants

Thursday:
– Most tropical impacts should subside, though a few leftover showers and thunderstorms can’t be ruled out across the Carolinas.
– Mostly dry elsewhere aside from localized showers and weak thunderstorms.
– Temperatures: 6-12 degrees below normal across Georgia, northern Florida, and the Carolinas, within 5 degrees of normal elsewhere.
