Compared to the previous week, feeder cattle receipts were significantly
lighter, with limited offerings of weaned calves available. In contrast to last
week's large supply of weaned calves, this week's feeder market was unevenly
tested. Feeder steers weighing 300-600 lbs sold $15.00-$20.00 lower, while
steers over 600 lbs traded $7.00 higher. Feeder heifers weighing 300-400 lbs
sold $15.00 higher, whereas 500-600 lb heifers traded $7.00 lower. Slaughter
cattle sold mostly steady.
