SLAUGHTER CATTLE 58 38 125
Compared to last Tuesday the feeder market was stronger with a good quality
offering. Feeder steers and heifers 650 lbs and under were 3.00 to 8.00
higher or greater in spots with a good supply and good demand. Yearling steers
and heifers appeared sharply higher as well, but with limited head to head
comparisons. Double digit gains in the futures market over the past five days,
and cooler weather conditions has increased buyers interest and the premiums
they are willing to pay for quality cattle. Slaughter cows were 1.00 to 3.00
higher with a good supply, while slaughter bulls were 2.00 to 4.00 higher with
good demand.
