System Opening Door for Widespread Rain This Weekend

A front is settling from the Kansas-Oklahoma border into the Ohio Valley on Friday afternoon. Areas of showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop near it for the rest of the day. Another system is moving into the West. That will push the front northward on Saturday, bringing in some warmer air and moisture from the Gulf. The system will open the door for multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms to move through the Plains and Midwest not only this weekend, but through much of next week as well.
