Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 2.00 to 10.00 higher. Slaughter
cows and bulls sold steady to 5.00 higher. As of Friday noon, there hasn't
been any Kansas negotiated fed cattle sales yet this week. The latest
established market was the previous record breaking week at 248.00 to 249.00,
mostly 248.00. In the hay market, market conditions were largely steady with
limited overall change observed. The market tone was slightly softer. Movement
of hay was light to moderate, with fewer transactions reported compared to last
week. Demand for hay remains present, however, current price levels are
limiting trading activity and constraining movement.
